Take a Deep Breath...

Inhale

Exhale

How does that feel?  Now do it again. Inhale. Exhale.

Isn’t that amazing? 

The past couple of months I have been doing a lot of soul searching. Praying. Deepening my walk with my Savior. What I am learning is this life is anything but ordinary. We get caught up in the daily activities and we do not even realize what is right in front of us. We are meant for so much more than the rush we have in our lives. Our purpose in this life is to point toward the Father. We live in a crumbling world, but He has overcome the world. The more I study and pay attention, the more I see how BIG our God is. This scripture jumped off the page at me:

“the Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of  life, and the man became a living being.” Genesis 2:7

It gives me chills. Imagine the God of the universe, the God that created all of nature, planets, the moon sun and the stars, spoke and everything came to be, but he took the time to form man and then breathed into him. He breathed into him so he came ALIVE!

 As I am writing this Amy Grant’s song “Breath of Heaven” is on. 

Your breath is from Heaven. Directly from God, himself.


Let that sink in.  Mind blowing, isn’t it?

 "Take it easy.." the chipper college age cashier said as he handed me the receipt at Ingles. I smiled back and left the store with that in mind. Happy Birthday, Darlin'

In May of 2006 we sold our first home. We were in dire need of a larger one since we had 5 children. The last week of May we were in the process of moving our belongings into storage and getting ready to remodel the home we were purchasing, when out of the clear blue-- the line appeared! I remember taking Michael breakfast that Monday morning after I had taken the kids to school and taking the test. He came out to the van and said " What's wrong", I looked at him and said, " I took a pregnancy test".. He just smiled and said "well you must be pregnant since you are telling me that you took the test" but then he said the sweetest thing that made all the difference. 'Honey, we have never been more prepared in our whole lives. It will be fine. God will take care of us." The Blues

I am hitting a milestone and I don't like it. I am only 33, why do I feel so old? I think it is because I am facing the hard reality that my oldest will be 16 soon. Her and I have had our ups and downs, but what is awesome about her is that she talks to me. Devyn is a great kid. I could not ask for a better one. I just hope the other 5 follow in her footsteps. The problem is, she has set the bar HIGH. I am afraid that here on out I will be comparing the rest of them and secretly saying "why can't you be more like your sister". Devyn is more like me than she or myself want to admit. Extremely strong willed. She has no problem telling you her opinion or how she thinks something should be handled. She is a Christian, she professed the Lord at the age of 5. She amazes me, her walk with the Lord is evident. But I do pray that she will learn that a wise person doesn't always speak.
